How can I sell my items?
What is consignment selling?

Consignment selling is when an intermediary (in this case Tesos Bazar) allows a seller (in this case, you) to keep their products in their store. Once the product is sold, the intermediary takes a commission.

What is Tesoros Bazar's commission?

Half of the price selling goes to the owner (you) and the other half goes to Tesoros Bazar. When it comes to art and antiques, the commission is much lower (between 10 and 30% of the selling price).

Why does 50% go for Tesoros Bazar?

Because this is a consignment sale, we accept your items for sale and pay you a percentage when the items are sold. It is important to emphasize that Tesoros Bazar is a formal and legitimate business and as such we have many operational cost as rent, salaries, social security, taxes, utilities, etc.

What items are received?

Almost everything that is on a good condition and can be used by someone else. The items we do NOT accept are:

  1. Damaged or incomplete goods..
  2. Items prohibited by law such as piracy, firearms, and archaeological pieces.
  3. Items with a value of less than $30.00 MXN.
  4. Fine jewelry and watches.
  5. Non-functioning or outdated electronics such as old computers, monitors, printers, faxes, etc.
  6. VHS and Beta movies. Note: Selected used clothing and shoes are only accepted for donation.

Who sets the selling price?

Based on our experience, we set the highest possible price since we know what the market is willing to pay. However, you have the final say.

Will I receive an inventory?

Yes, we will provide you with a printed detailed inventory of all your items indicating their date of consigment and selling price.

Selling my items
How long does it take for my items to sell?

85% of our merchandise sells during the first month.

Who notifies me when my items are sold?

Each client must keep track of their inventory by calling, writing or visiting us to inquire about the status of their items.

When do I get payed for my sold items?

From the 10th to the 20th of each month, payment is made for all items sold during the previous month.

How long can I leave the items I want to sell?

90 days.

Does the price of my items decrease over time?

  1. During the first month, it is sold at the price agreed upon that appears on the inventory.
  2. If not sold, after 30 days the original price is reduced by 15%.
  3. After 60 days, the original price is reduced by 30%.

We are all interested in selling as quickly as possible because both sides receive greaten profit.

Information for Buyers
Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes, we accept all credit cards except for American Express.

Is there a layaway system?

Yes, you can purchase any item with 50% of its value and settle the remaining balance a week later.

Is there a warranty?

No. As these are second-hand items, we do not offer any kind of warranty.

Do you provide restoration services?

We don’t. Each buyer can restore them according to their taste.

What is the return policy?

We do not accept any returns or exchanges. You must carefully inspect your merchandise before purchasing.

Can I bargain or ask for a discount?

No, our prices are fixed and we have an automatic discount program.

Will you deliver the items to my house?

No, we do not offer delivery services.

Storage of my consigned items
If I change my mind about selling an item, can I pick it up?

Yes, but you must leave them for sale for a minimum of 15 days. Starting on day 16, you can pick up your belongings and no charge will be applied.

What happens if something doesn't sell after three months?

You can pick it up and no charge will be applied.

Can I extend the consignment of my items?

Yes, for items valued at more than $300 pesos, you must come in person to re-price them at a lower price, and another three-month period will renew. If you do not pick up your expired items, they will be donated.
